Hairline planning
Angle, direction and distribution of grafts matter to the appearance of the hairline. The pen is one tool within that plan, not a substitute for planning.

Considering direct hair implantation in Lahore? DHI usually describes an implanter-assisted graft-placement workflow, often after FUE harvesting. At Dr Hammad Aesthetic in Model Town, your consultation considers donor supply, hairline priorities and the planned implantation approach before treatment is agreed.
Discuss your treatment optionsUnderstand the procedure
DHI stands for direct hair implantation. The term is commonly used for placement with a sharp implanter, and sometimes for implanting grafts promptly after extraction. It does not describe a separate donor-harvesting method. A pen places a prepared graft; it does not harvest that graft from the donor area.
With a sharp implanter, the tip creates the recipient incision and places the graft in one action. A dull implanter places the graft into a pre-made recipient site. Both workflows involve incisions: “no pre-made channels” is not the same as “no cuts”. The instrument and workflow for your case should be explained during consultation.

Beyond the label
Angle, direction and distribution of grafts matter to the appearance of the hairline. The pen is one tool within that plan, not a substitute for planning.
An implanter can reduce direct handling of the graft bulb, but correct loading, hydration and placement remain important.
Coverage depends on available donor supply, hair calibre and the size of the recipient area. A DHI label does not guarantee a particular density.
Your consultation
Your consultation will clarify the treatment plan and who will carry out each stage of the procedure. Ask about the qualifications and registration of the clinician performing the surgical steps and the responsibilities of the supporting team.
Ask about the proposed graft count, donor limits, alternatives, recovery, follow-up arrangements and total quote before agreeing to surgery. Read the guide to surgeon and team roles.
Patient selection
A receding hairline, frontal thinning or crown loss with an adequate donor supply may be assessed for transplantation. The cause and stability of hair loss need to be considered first.
Active scalp disease, unstable hair loss, unsuitable donor supply or medical concerns may require treatment or further assessment before surgery. Do not stop prescribed medicines without medical advice.
A transplant redistributes existing follicles. It does not create an unlimited donor supply or stop every form of hair loss. Non-surgical options and future reserve may be part of the discussion.

Transparent pricing
PKR 40–70 per graft. The total estimate is confirmed after assessing your donor area, graft requirements and agreed procedure plan. A graft is a follicular unit and can contain more than one hair; graft count and hair count are not interchangeable.
Ask for a written explanation of the graft plan and what the quote includes, including medicines, follow-up and any additional donor harvesting. Do not assume those items are included without confirmation.

Recovery and expectations
Early redness, swelling, tenderness and crusting can occur. Transplanted hairs commonly shed initially; this is not the same as losing the transplanted follicle. New growth may become noticeable around four months, with final results often taking 10–18 months. Individual timing varies.
Follow your own instructions for washing, sleeping, exercise and returning to work. The technique label alone does not determine when your scalp will look settled. Read the recovery and aftercare guide.
Risks include bleeding, infection, reactions to anaesthetic, scarring, temporary shedding, poor graft growth, uneven density or an unsatisfactory hairline. Contact your treating clinic promptly about worsening pain, spreading redness, fever or unexpected bleeding.

Assess the evidence
Ask to see relevant, consented cases with the procedure, graft count and follow-up interval explained. Comparable angles, lighting and hair length make before-and-after photographs more useful. A result from one technique should not be relabelled as another, and an individual patient result does not guarantee your outcome.
Patient questions
They describe different stages. FUE is a method of harvesting follicles. DHI commonly refers to an implantation workflow, so a procedure described as DHI may still use FUE harvesting.
A sharp implanter can make the incision and place the graft in one action. A dull implanter is used with pre-made sites. The word DHI alone does not identify every detail of a clinic’s protocol.
No. Donor capacity, graft quality, scalp condition and the placement plan influence achievable coverage. A high advertised density is not appropriate for every patient.
Partial-shave or unshaven workflows may be possible in selected cases, but DHI does not automatically mean no shaving. Confirm the shaving plan before booking.
No surgical hair transplant can be promised to be painless or scar-free. Local anaesthesia helps control pain during surgery; injections and recovery can cause discomfort. FUE harvesting can leave small dot scars.
The clinic’s published DHI price range is PKR 40–70 per graft. Your total estimate is confirmed after assessment of graft requirements, donor source and the agreed procedure plan.
Your consultation will clarify who will carry out each surgical stage and what the supporting team will do. Confirm the responsible clinician’s name, qualifications and registration before proceeding.
Not necessarily. The donor supply is limited and may not support dense coverage of every bald area. The plan may prioritise the hairline or frontal scalp and discuss non-surgical management of continuing hair loss.
